About Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a more meditative approach with a physical focus much deeper than Yang like practices. Here the practitioner is trying to access the deeper tissues such as the connective tissue and fascia and many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine). As one ages flexibility in the joints decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility. This intimate practice of yoga requires students to be ready to get intimate with the self, with feelings, sensations, and emotions.
Instructor Sarah Bahl
Yin Yoga with Sarah
Sarah Bahl grew up in Washington D.C. and fell in love with yoga after her first class at Lil Omm in 2012. She enjoys the simplicity of movement in any practice and finds that yoga has something to give to everyone. Her path in yoga lead her to receive her 200 hour certification from Circle Yoga in 2019. The year long program gave a history and culture to motions she had come used to during flow and yin. Sarah finds it a gift to be able to share a passion with others at APMI Wellness Center.
